AIR KING V16
The AIR KING V16 is the only pure silver analog interconnect that
we currently make, and it is our best-to-date effort with PURE
SILVER. Sonically, the Air King clearly surpasses all our previous
(now discontinued) pure silver interconnects.
The latest revision is made in pale blue color - as shonw on the
picture below:
The "AIR KING" FEATURES SUMMARY
- Ultra-thin 99.997% pure silver wire
- foam Teflon insulation
- STEALTH
distributed LITZ geometry*
- STEALTH
proprietary connectors (Texalium carbon shells, Teflon
dielectric, solid silver contacts)
- virtually
unbreakable wire core
- advanced
termination technique
SOUND
The Air King is a pure silver cable and thus has certain attributes
typical for pure silver: the extra subjective "speed"
and clarity, somewhat emphasized upper midrange ("presence
region") and forward overall presentation; the Air King does NOT
sound thin, but its very extended treble offers lots of
"air" and "sparkle". If you feel you need a
bit of extra "live" in your system, this may be the best
cables for you. However, if you system is a bit on the bright side
- then a better choice may be our pure carbon (Nanofiber) cables,
which sound subjectively softer and more "relaxed" than
the Air King.
PRICING
Suggested retail prices:
- 1 meter RCA-terminated pair is $2,300 ($800 for each extra meter)
- 1 meter balanced XLR
pair is $2,900 ($1,000 for each extra balanced meter);
*STEALTH Distributed LITZ geometry: while similar to the bifilar winding, it’s not exactly that: the cable is multi-layered; wires are individually insulated and gently spiraled to run in opposite directions in layers which are next to each other; the spiral diameter and the pitch is different for each layer, i.e. for each individual wire. Thus, the wires inside a cable are separated by the far greater distance compare to their diameter, no wires run in parallel to each other, and no regular pattern is repeated throughout the cable. The distributed LITZ geometry offers significant reduction of electromagnetic interaction between strands of wire; both capacitive and inductive coupling are greatly reduced. The electrical resonances in distributed LITZ are considerably less pronounced than in any conventional geometry. This dramatically reduces RF resonance-related intermodulation distortion (one of the main distortion types in cables).
